Job Duties
Using established educational methods, presents interpretation in non-historical clothing, depicting the culture, events, and concerns of 17th and 18th century Powhatan Indians, mariners, Virginia colonists, and citizens.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong and effective oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of and ability to learn and utilize recognized teaching methods
Ability to read, assimilate and utilize curatorial approved information
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a contributing member of a team
Ability to demonstrate and foster empathy amongst colleagues, stakeholders, peers and guests.
Ability to work effectively and respectfully with people of diverse cultures, ages, and economic backgrounds
Demonstrated positive approach to problem solving, new tasks, and collaborating with others
A background in history, education, communication, or museum studies can be beneficial for this role.
Additional Considerations
Prior experience working in a living history, formal or informal education setting helpful
