Job Duties

The Office of the Attorney General is looking for an Investigative Analyst in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. In this role, you'll analyze complex datasets to expose fraud, manage crucial evidence, and work closely with investigators to build solid cases. The ideal candidate for this position is an analytical thinker with a knack for problem-solving. You should have a strong foundation in data management techniques and experience with relevant tools. Attention to detail is crucial, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be translating complex findings into clear, actionable insights for team members and stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who is adaptable and eager to learn, as healthcare regulations and fraud schemes are constantly evolving. Most importantly, you should be passionate about using your skills to make a difference and uphold the integrity of our healthcare system. This position will work out of the Richmond, Virginia office.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience also includes exercising initiative; attention to detail; judgment in collecting, assembling and developing facts, evidence or other pertinent data; the ability to analyze and evaluate data or evidence to arrive at sound conclusions including applying new information; and the ability to partner with or lead others in the accomplishment of mission activities.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated computer proficiency with data analysis and database management systems (Microsoft products preferred).

Additional Considerations

  • Applicants must have a related undergraduate degree or commensurate experience.
  • Major course work in the criminal justice, decision analytics, data management, or medical administration; or prior analytical work experience, is preferred.
  • Criminal background check will be completed on successful candidate.
