Job Duties
Norfolk Health Department is seeking a PH Physician Supervisor to serves as the Clinic Director and chief clinician for the health district, providing clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for public health clinical services. Responsible for the supervision of physicians and other licensed healthcare professionals, oversight of clinic operations, quality management, workforce development, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. Provides direct patient care and serves as the district's clinical authority to ensure delivery of safe, effective, equitable, and patient-centered public health services.

Minimum Qualifications
• Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public health and clinical preventive medicine.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Skilled in use of automation for data collection and analysis and in presentations and teaching.
• Ability to effectively work independently and as a member of a team, work with the media, and cope with change in the workplace.
• Knowledge of Communicable Disease Investigation and surveillance activates.
• Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of public health and clinical preventive medicine.
• Ability to examine, diagnose and effectively treat a variety of patients and to coordinate work and maintain strong relationships with the professional and non-professional medical community.
• Experience in managing medical professionals and programs, preferably public health.
Additional Considerations
• Board certification/eligibility in preventive medicine or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Ability to represent the District Health Director in community events, partner engagements, and in other situations where public health leadership is required to achieve the agency's mission.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to oversee multiple departments, including office management, HR, and finance; sensitivity to workplace culture; excellent communicator.
• Vision: responsible for making high-level decisions that keep the NDPH relevant and effective in carrying out our mission.
