Job Duties

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a Driver License Compliance Tech. The DLC Technician processes high-volume requests related to driver history, court orders, and legal documents, including time-sensitive documents. This position is responsible for evaluating documents and driving records to ensure compliance with motor vehicle laws, reviewing and processing court orders, and interacting with DMV service centers, courts, VASAP, attorneys, and other work centers to provide information and clarification on statutory or administrative requirements. Additionally, the technician oversees the Driver Improvement Program, ensuring accurate processing and record-keeping in alignment with DMV policies.

The Driver Monitoring Division, within the Driver Services Administration, enhances roadway safety by monitoring and maintaining up-to-date records of driver behaviors, medical fitness, and sanctions. The division tracks driving records, conducts medical reviews to assess drivers' fitness to drive, ensures compliance with suspensions, revocations, and reinstatements, and provides timely notifications to drivers and law enforcement, all aimed at reducing risks on the road.

Minimum Qualifications

•Strong communication skills for interacting with courts, law enforcement, attorneys, and other levels of the organization
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office for document processing and record updates
•Problem-solving skills to resolve inquiries and ensure accurate legal document processing
•High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple high-volume tasks accurately

Additional Considerations

•Experience with DMV systems (e.g., OnBase, CSS) and handling time sensitive information
•Experience working in a DMV or similar governmental setting
•Experience processing legal documents and handling confidential information
