About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Equipment Repair Tech Install in our Communications Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:

• Installing, removing, and repairing police, communications and other electronic equipment in Virginia State Police vehicles.
• Servicing and repairing motor vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:

• Equipment installation procedures and techniques related to police, communications, and other electronic equipment.

Skills in:

• Diagnosing, repairing, and servicing equipment.

Ability to:

• Read and comprehend schematic diagrams and other related technical documents.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain strong attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing with personnel.
• Virginia Operator's License required.
• Previous experience or training in electrical/electronic/automobile.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

• Virginia State Inspection certification preferred.
