Job Duties
The Motor Vehicle Dealer Board is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Field Representative to support the administration and enforcement of Virginia’s Motor Vehicle Dealer Licensing Laws and Advertising Rules and Regulations. This position ensures compliance among franchised and independent motor vehicle dealers throughout the counties or cities Fredericksburg, Caroline, Essex, King George, Lancaster, Louisa, Northumberland, Orange, Richmond County, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Westmoreland.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of new and existing motor vehicle dealerships within assigned cities, counties, and towns.
Provide clear guidance to dealers regarding Motor Vehicle Dealer Licensing Laws and Advertising Rules and Regulations.
Investigate consumer complaints and issues identified during inspections, ensuring thorough documentation and follow‑up.
Issue verbal or written warnings, violation notices, or initiate hearing requests based on investigative findings.
Serve as an agency witness during administrative hearings, presenting findings and supporting regulatory enforcement actions.
Minimum Qualifications
*Working Knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Dealer Licensing Laws and Advertising Rules and Regulations as they relate to the Agency.
* Ability to perform inspection of motor vehicle dealerships to ensure compliance; educate and assist the dealer when necessary;
*Ability to analyze findings of fact during complaint investigations (dealer and curbstone) and determine necessary action;
*Working skills in presentation of facts in properly documented reports and presentations to the Board;
*Basic computer skills, ability to communicate tactfully,
*Work without supervision and possess a valid Virginia Operator's license.
Additional Considerations
*Experience in conducting investigations or compliance enforcement is preferred.
* Bilingual or multilingual
* Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License and good driving record
