Job Duties
This position will support the Department of Veterans Services Military Medics and Corpsmen (MMAC) Program to enable former military medics and corpsmen to obtain employment and utilize their medical training within the civilian health care industry. Responsible for facilitation and oversight of the timely and efficient process of recruiting, reviewing and referring program applicants to healthcare employers to encourage them to hire applicants. Works in close coordination with MMAC Program Manager and Recourse Coordinator to assure high quality and timely customer service, and accurate data collection, tracking and reporting. Conducts applicant case management to include timely MMAC applicant processing, screening/review, classification, PHS/healthcare system referral, status updates and post-hire follow up.
Minimum Qualifications
-Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work effectively with hospitals, medical facilities, private practice offices and medical administrators, local/state/federal government officials and business owners/operators
- Experience in planning, analysis, and decision making
- Experience as Medic or Corpsman
- Experience with partnerships with private sector hospitals/health care systems
-Advanced oral and written communications skills
- Ability to effectively use software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
-Ability to independently manage a high volume of work
- Ability to work in a team environment
