Job Duties

Provides administrative, clerical, procurement, and data management support for correctional education programs at both the facility and regional level for the Western region. Ensures efficient daily operations of adult education, CTE, ABE, GED, and college programming by managing workflows, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with Principals, instructors, regional leadership, and external partners. Serves as the primary operational assistant to the Regional Education Administrator, supporting regional purchasing, compliance, reporting, communication, and multifacility alignment of procedures. Maintains CORIS and other education related systems to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to VADOC standards. Supports regional initiatives, special projects, and cross facility coordination to enhance educational service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge:

Knowledge of correctional education operations (ABE, CTE, GED, college).

Knowledge of VADOC policies, procurement rules, documentation standards, and record retention requirements.

Working knowledge of CORIS, EVA, and core VADOC administrative systems.

Skills:

Skill in EVA procurement, including requisitions, purchase orders, vendor coordination, and compliance tracking.

Skill in CORIS data entry, reporting, and maintaining accurate student records.

Skill in Microsoft Word and Excel for drafting documents, maintaining logs, and reconciling data.

Effective communication skills for coordinating with multiple facilities and partners.

Strong organizational and time management skills for high volume administrative workflows.





Abilities:

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines across multiple facilities.

Ability to interpret and apply procurement, operational, and educational policies.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with VADOC standards.

Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff, administrators, inmates, and external partners.

Ability to produce accurate reports and maintain records supporting regional coordination.

Additional Considerations

Experience in correctional or criminal justice environments.

Experience with multifacility coordination or regional operations.

Associate’s Degree

Experience with MS Access, Publisher, or advanced data tools.

Background in recordkeeping, procurement documentation, or financial tracking.
