About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire two Employment Analyst’s in our Human Resources Division located at our Administrative Headquarters (SPHQ) in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
• Providing human resource services to Professional Staff and/or Sworn employees regarding recruitment/selection for Department managers, supervisor, employees, and outside applicants.
• Cross-training with other members of the Talent Acquisition and Employee Relations (TAER) Section as it relates to employee relations and/or Sworn Programs.
• Developing desk procedures to ensure continuity of operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management.
• Knowledge of State and Federal laws related to the recruitment and selection of current employees and/or outside applicants for employment.
• Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of the theories of process improvement and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Skills:
• Skill in the operation and use of a personal computer with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Skill in recruitment and selection management systems to work with employment and other human resource data.
• Skill in data entry.
• Great customer service skills.
• Skill in keyboarding.
• Skill in filing.
Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, apply and interpret human resource policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct training.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, interacting and providing customer service to all levels of management, supervisor, employees, and outside applicants, orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare reports.
• Demonstrated ability to compose correspondence.
• Demonstrated ability to manipulate statistical data and utilize spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple and competing priorities and tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to process Professional Staff and/or Sworn current employees and/or outside applicants through the entire pre-employment life cycle from initial application to onboarding.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
• The use of Cardinal, OEBS, PageUp and/or Perceptive experience is preferred.
