About the Position
Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is seeking a Housekeeping Worker to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across the campus. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, carpets, bathrooms, lounges, residential rooms, hallways, offices, kitchens, elevators, and laundry rooms using prescribed detergents and disinfectants. Duties also involve polishing fixtures, replenishing supplies, unclogging toilets, identifying asbestos‑containing tiles, reporting damaged tiles, and cleaning woodwork, windows, furnishings, and equipment as needed.
The position operates cleaning equipment such as buffers, shower machines, golf carts, specialized vacuums, and pressure washers, maintains inventory, orders supplies, and submits work orders.
Additional duties include assisting grounds with snow removal, moving furniture, trash removal, sweeping sidewalks, event setups, and recycling. Safety responsibilities include responding to bed bug, MRSA, and head lice situations; reporting pests; conducting building sweeps; identifying bloodborne pathogens; quarantining affected areas; using proper PPE; and disposing of biohazard materials.
Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
Knowledge of cleaning techniques and practices; and of use of cleaning supplies and equipment
Skills/Abilities:
Physical ability to perform reasonably strenuous housekeeping tasks such as lifting, bending, reaching and squatting are required.
Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions; and to work effectively with diverse customers.
