Job Duties

The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as a Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer with the Business Platform Solutions Team.

The Lead Cloud Solutions Engineer will serve as a senior, hands-on technical resource for VITA's Business Platform Solutions Team, which provides enterprise cloud platforms and digital services to Commonwealth agencies.

Design, develop and implement secure, supportable solutions across Microsoft Power Platform, GitHub Enterprise, Adobe Management Platform, Box Enterprise Content Management, Azure-based services and robotic process automation.

Lead the technical execution of complex platform initiatives, including integrations, automation, deployment patterns and reusable engineering solutions. Develop tools and processes that improve platform administration, monitoring, reporting, licensing and management of consumption-based services such as AI credits, API usage and cloud capacity.

Work directly with agency and internal technical teams to translate business needs into practical solutions, develop proofs of concept, troubleshoot complex cross-platform issues and guide implementations from design through operational support.

Evaluate emerging technologies and platform capabilities and help establish repeatable technical standards, reference architectures and engineering practices that improve security, reliability and scalability.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role that works under the operational and architectural direction of the Platform Operations Manager and does not directly manage or supervise staff.
