The Ratepayer Advocacy Section carries out the responsibilities of the Attorney General’s Division of Consumer Counsel “to represent and be heard on behalf of consumers’ interests” before governmental bodies under Code § 2.2-517(B). In this capacity, the Ratepayer Advocacy Section engages in matters relating to energy (electric and gas utilities), water utilities, telecommunications companies, and insurance companies.
