Natural Area Protection Planning, Outreach, and Data Management Specialist in Richmond (City), Virginia
Specialist to help support all phases of identifying the Division’s land protection priorities, managing data associated with land protection priorities, and implementing these priorities. Duties include: • interpret natural heritage data, land ownership data, and available conservation options • utilize geographic information systems (GIS) software for statewide analyses and site-specific project reviews to integrate existing data, relevant models, and prioritizations. • conduct strategic outreach to prospective partners • sharing pertinent data, as appropriate, with internal and external partners through ArcPro, ArcGIS online and Field Maps, and other means customized to the specific audience. • managing GIS and tabular legacy data (using Access etc.), • preparing grant applications and funding requests, • organizing internal and external meetings, participate in and organize conversations with a diverse list of landowners and prospective partners, (e.g. conservation organizations, and staff from local, state and federal government agencies, • supporting internal communications throughout DCR, especially the Real Property Office. • coordinating technical review of prospective easement projects proposed by conservation partners. key staff across DCR on various aspects of real property protection projects. This position may conduct easement monitoring & baseline reporting as needed.

The office is located in the west end of Henrico County. The Division of Certificate of Public Need. Per the Code of Virginia and the Regulations governing medical care facilities in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the DCOPN has numerous time-sensitive obligations for which a supervisor is needed, including, but not limited to, providing supervision to a staff of five, drafting and reviewing DCOPN staff reports with recommendations to the State Health Commissioner. The position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on access to health care in the Commonwealth as well work closely with health care providers and other staff in the licensing divisions of the office. Responsible for directly analyzing and leading or supervising others in the analysis of data to determine what trends exist in health care service delivery and utilization, medical technology, marketing of health care services, costs of services and capital improvements, and the national and state economic climates. Utilizes a variety of data sources and statistical formulas to identify rates of change, develop appropriate methodologies for evaluating capital projects, and prepare various reports. Plans research and measurement techniques; identifies the potential impact of regulatory or treatment changes on outcome, service delivery, and resources required. Analyzes, formulates recommendations and prepares legally defensible written reports and recommendations to the Commissioner of Health on Virginia Certificate of Public Need applications.

The Department of Criminal Justice Services is recruiting for a highly qualified and motivated individual to help enable the continued receipt of federal funds which support the juvenile justice system by serving as a juvenile justice compliance monitoring coordinator to ensure our compliance with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act. The compliance monitoring coordinator will develop and coordinate the preparation and submission of the federal compliance report as required by federal statutes and regulations to assure the Commonwealth’s receipt of federal funds for juvenile justice or other justice initiatives. To prepare the report, this person will collect and analyze data to determine potential violations of the JJDP Act. In addition, the person in this position will provide technical assistance to state and local personnel on compliance issues, respond to state and local inquiries regarding federal compliance issues, report to various committees on the Commonwealth’s compliance, and perform other duties as requested. This person will work as part of a juvenile justice team and will need to collaborate with other state and local professionals. The position will have statewide responsibilities, which will include some travel throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is a part-time position.
