The Assistant Superintendent of Student Assessment and Accountability provides leadership in the development and implementation of assessment programs, including local balanced assessment systems and the implementation of state and federal accountability systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of program and contract management including budget development and management.
• Extensive experience in managing large scale assessment programs including work with systems used in both online and paper/pencil test delivery modes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments with critical deadlines and to coordinate the efforts of others to reach agreed upon program goals.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to the educational community, contractors, parents, legislators, and the public regarding highly complex assessment program and accountability information;
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and focus on data;
• Demonstrated ability to interpret policy and procedures to respond to program inquiries;
• Considerable experience in managing and monitoring multiple, concurrent tasks effectively;
• Considerable knowledge and skill using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Additional Considerations

• Experience in Web-based test delivery systems and evaluating the functionality of Web-based applications;
• Experience in large-scale assessment at either the state or local school division level; and
• Supervisory experience preferred.
