Job Duties
Virginia Military Institute invites applications for the position of Writing Center Coordinator, beginning August 2024. Non-tenure track, 12-month position with benefits, annually renewable.
• Working closely with the Director of Writing to develop the Writing Center in light of Institute Writing Program strategic objectives.
• The coordinator will manage the Center’s day-to-day operations and foster the development of peer and professional consultants.
• Opportunity also to teach Core Curriculum courses in composition and/or public speaking.
• The Writing Center, an academic support component of the Institute Writing Program, serves undergraduates and faculty across disciplines.
• Successful candidates will have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence, knowledge of writing center theory and practice, experience working as a writing consultant, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s or Ph.D. in English or Rhetoric required.

• Supervisory experience.
