Job Duties
The Clinical Quality Informatics Specialist serves as the liaison between the healthcare facility (PGH), the Millennium team, and the software vendor of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) System and is responsible for assessing clinician and patient needs, evaluating, and refining clinical processes, and participating in the development and management of the EHR. The Clinical Quality Informatics Specialist conducts systematic reviews of documentation and patient care and aggregates data that can be analyzed and presented in a usable format to recommend and drive continuous quality improvement. This position also provides leadership and guidance to define system process requirements as they relate to the facility. The goal of the position is to facilitate the implementation and use of clinical information systems by end-users, working to support clinicians and to ultimately improve patient care outcomes. This position serves as a focal point for communication between end-users, facility leadership, and Millennium implementation project team with regard to requirements, specification, decisions, and issues. This position also provides audits for compliance with training, regulations, and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree in clinical or health information technology field or commensurate experience working in a Human Services field is required. Experience auditing healthcare records. Experience working with data and converting it into usable designs. Previous experience working with Cerner or another EHR.
Must have the ability to develop a strong understanding of workflows within all facility departments.
Ability to cultivate automated reports and executive-level dashboards.
Ability to prioritize requests and business needs to proactively and independently.
Strong collaborative, meeting management, and group facilitation skills required to achieve DBHDS and facility objectives.
Capacity to aid in project issue resolutions and enhancements as a collaborative partner with the Millennium team.
Ability to Multitask
Must be a strong team player and possess the ability to work in the cross functional team environments.
Advanced skills in applications such as Excel and Power BI
Experience and expertise in clinical auditing utilizing EHR
Ability to recognize trends in data and extrapolate the effects on hospital operations.
Additional Considerations
Experience working in a psychiatric hospital setting.
