Job Duties

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center is seeking a Part Time Payroll Specialist to support the Payroll Officer and Finance Department, ensuring that the facility’s payroll is processed in accordance with all policies and procedures. The Payroll Specialist’s function is to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of submitted payroll and pay-related documents.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all payrolls.
Ensure that payroll expenditures are charged to the appropriate funds.
Ensure that all deductions and payments are properly calculated and reported.
Ensure that all pay adjustments are properly calculated.
Work in collaboration with Human Resources and other departments to ensure timely receipt of information needed to process payrolls within deadlines.
Prepare all required reports are accurate and submit them to the appropriate reporting agency in a timely manner.
Provide and maintain needed internal reports.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of developing forms and procedures to ensure effective payroll processing.
Keep up to date with payroll policies, procedures, and requirements.
Assist employees in updating or changing payroll information.
Answer employee questions regarding deductions, pay actions, time, and pay-related benefit information.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Maintain timecards in UKG.
Assist in reconciling monthly healthcare and quarterly/annual payroll reconciliations.
Assist in Accounts Payable Processing.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Diploma
1 Year Prior Payroll Specialist Experience
Experience with UKG
Ability to handle and manage sensitive and confidential information.
Excellent time management skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and across different departments
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using Cardinal.

Additional Considerations

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or other related field of study.
