Job Summary

The Workforce Staff Training Instructor is responsible for developing, maintaining, and providing non-credit training opportunities for business and industry in the College's Division of Workforce Solutions. These opportunities include continuing education for professional development and industry-recognized credential attainment. Other associated duties.

Job Duties

  • 50% - • Provide training for non-credit courses offered by Workforce Solutions (WFS) • Conduct all classes at the scheduled time and work with the Director to arrange for any postponements, cancellations, or substitutions • Deliver training to a set curriculum plan with clear learning outcomes and competencies. • Adhere to training guidelines established by WFS • Ensure conformance of training to applicable certification standards • Provide end-of-course information for record in the Learning Management System (LMS) • Complete educator onboarding, relevant learning technology training, and other training as needed or required. Comply with FERPA, HIPAA, and other privacy laws and policies. • Work with the Director to maintain continuity of course content and quality among other instructors used to teach courses • Work with the Director and other stakeholders to develop and maintain a course syllabus for a course in advance of the course date • Conduct routine curriculum reviews to ensure course content remains fresh and relevant • Review course evaluations and other feedback with the Director and other stakeholders to make adjustments as necessary • Provide routine evaluations and reports on programs. - (Essential)
  • 20% - • Confer with and advise students on their performance and progress. • Respond to student inquiries and provide feedback promptly - (Essential)
  • 10% - • Maintain a professional rapport with industry partners. - (Essential)
  • 10% - • Manage and proctor WorkKeys testing and other exams as needed. - (Essential)
  • 5% - • When necessary, assistance with running Workforce events and daily administrative duties may be required. These could include event setup and hospitality, facility tours, customer site visits, updating the LMS, etc. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other Duties • Performs additional duties as assigned - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Technical degrees or certifications in engineering systems technology or other related technical field

Minimum of five years of demonstrated background and experience in an industrial and/or technical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

A master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

Five years of recent manufacturing experience in the engineering/ maintenance area focusing on PLC, robotics, and automation

Supervisory experience

OSHA thirty-hour industry certification

Other related technical skills are also preferred

Strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge of and experience using a variety of instructional delivery methods.
Knowledge of current industry practices regarding course content.
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use LMS systems for instructional delivery.
Knowledge of FERPA and HIPPA privacy regulations and policies.
Demonstrated competency in a relevant engineering systems technology field.
Ability to design and implement lesson plans that align learning objectives with student outcomes.
Ability to develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies to accommodate a diverse student population to promote the acquisition and application of knowledge.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to deliver content in non-traditional settings, including but not limited to hybrid, online, and community-based settings.
Ability to work days, nights, or weekends to accommodate course schedules.
Ability to travel throughout the College's service area and other locations in the community where courses may be held.

Pay Rate:  $47,031-$58,788 Annual salary depending on eligible experience which is defined by the current compensation plan.
