Job Summary

The HR-Payroll temp position will directly assist the Director for Human Resources and Director for Payroll Services with a wide range of projects related to recruiting, onboarding/orientation, employee benefits, and training/development and numerous payroll related activities, including reconciliations, adjustments and testing.

Depending on circumstances, remote work may be an option.

Job Duties

  • 40% - Assist Human Resources staff to enhance functionality of various HR systems by creating offer letters, emails, work on succession implementation in the Human Resource System. - (Essential)
  • 40% - Assist with payroll reconciliation; implementing new and/or improvements to processes (SSB9 testing, WTE improvements needed, new reports needed) Review for CYE to find corrections needed. Provide back-up to Banner data entry. Enter adjustments for Imputed Income on terminated EEs. Assist with maintenance of rule form changes needed. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Assist with revising or adding new forms as needed, maintaining and retrieving records, as needed, responding to inquiries and questions, providing assistance as needed. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Other duties as assigned. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in office setting;
• Related work experience
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in higher education or government setting.
• Experience working in Human Resource Systems
• Knowledge of payroll processes
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Ability to prepare written procedures and communications.
• Ability and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to create or update documents paying close attention to detail and accuracy.
• A willingness and passion to learn new hardware and software systems that are consistent with duties
