The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for a second full-time position of Industrial Electrical Maintenance/Mechatronics Instructor for the Clarksville Campus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education with credentials in related field. Associate degree preferred. A comparable combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Industrial Electrical Maintenance/Mechatronics field within the last five (5) years.
  • Strong hands-on technical background in electronics, mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLC), instrumentation, preventative maintenance, computer software and computer hardware skills, AC/DC electrical, machine tool/CNC, and technical math.
  • Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.
  • Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students is a plus.

SKILLS

  • Must show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and mature attitude.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must be willing to remain current in the field.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.
  • Must be willing and able to perform administrative duties in an accurate and timely manner.

GENERAL DUTIES:  The Industrial Electrical Maintenance/Mechatronics (IEM) Associate Instructor is primarily responsible for providing individualized theory and hands-on instruction to students. This position will teach adult and high school students in the IEM program in conjunction with the current IEM instructor to prepare them for employment in the field. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to: manufacturing processes, industrial safety, blueprint reading, technical math, process automation, quality inspection, CAD/CAM, electronics, mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLC), instrumentation, computer software and computer hardware skills, AC/DC electrical, machine tool, and preventive maintenance. The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the college’s student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports, and assist in recruiting new students and placement of graduates. This position must also maintain good public relations with business and industry; maintain an active advisory committee; cooperate with outside agencies; and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education. This position is full-time and reports to the Clarksville Campus Director. Work schedule is a minimum of 37.5 hours per week on a set schedule from Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is not a remote work position. Anticipated start date August 2025.

SALARY:  $55,157-$66,188 per year ($28.29-$33.94 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and related experience.
