Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jackson is accepting applications for a full-Time Patient Care Technology/Medical Assisting Instructor for the Lexington Campus.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• Candidate must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with current active licensure in the State of Tennessee.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years recent nursing experience or three (3) years of experience as a Patient Care Technology/Medical Assistant.
• One (1) year of long-term care experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or LPN/RN preferred.
• Ability to teach Certified Nursing Assistant duties, EKG and Phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of the principles and methods of effective teaching, supervision, and student management.
• Willingness to remain current in the technological changes of the industry.
• Possess good organizational, mathematical, language, writing and communication skills.
• Possess good character, mature attitude, stable personality, and exhibit evidence of potential ability to instruct.
• Working knowledge of the principles, philosophy, and methods of technical education and individualized instruction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) as well as the ability to learn and use other software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Implement established program of study and conduct training program in specialty area.
• Communicate and demonstrate expertise and knowledge of the principles and practices of a Patient Care Technician and Medical Assistant.
• Expertise in the clinical skills required of a Patient Care Technology/Medical Assistant.
• Evaluation of students, maintaining student records, and assisting with recruitment and job placement.
• Instruct students in safety and practice good safety habits.
• Cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to business and industry; establish and maintain good public relations with the school’s general public.
• Select or develop specifications for machines, equipment, and tools; maintain good physical conditions in classroom and/or lab area.
