Job Summary

The TCAT Web Services Coordinator will assist in creating content to promote the technical workforce programs TBR – The College System of Tennessee offers through its 37 technical and community colleges.

The successful candidate will be able to develop content to highlight and promote our colleges’ technical workforce programs to prospective students and business and industry partners. Content will be used primarily for, but not limited to, social media and websites.

The TCAT Web Services Coordinator will update TCAT and Center for Workforce Development websites to help ensure information is current and accurate.


This position may have the opportunity to work remote within the state of Tennessee but with periodic visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee’s expense, and potential travel to Tennessee TBR colleges may be necessary.

Job Duties

  • 40% - Creating content to highlight the technical workforce programs at TBR’s community and technical colleges. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Working with the Director of Content and Public Relations and Web and Digital Media staff to coordinate and distribute content. Updating web content to ensure content is current and accurate. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Posting and distributing content to social media, websites, and other digital platforms. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Follow project schedules set by the Director of Content and Public Relations. Ensure all tasks are completed professionally and on time. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Perform other responsibilities as assigned. - (Marginal)

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently hold, or pursuing, a degree or certificate in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience creating content for digital platforms, including social media and web
• Experience posting content to websites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing content for higher education institutions
• Familiarity with managing social media business accounts
• Experience using video and editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Express, Capcut, or other related content editing tools

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to create content for digital platforms, including social media and web;
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially in a Mac environment;
• Excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize accuracy in content creation and reporting;
• Proven organizational and time management skills;
• Ability to multitask, adapt to change, and meet deadlines;
• Comfortable working in a team-oriented, professional environment; and
• Ability to travel occasionally within the state for quarterly board meetings, presidents’ meetings, and related events.
