Job Summary
The Assistant Director of One Stop Services will support the Director of Student Success & OneStop in managing, organizing and overseeing college staff in the Student Success Center. The Assistant Director will function as a primary point of contact and guidance for OneStop team. The Assistant Director will also assist in the oversight of the success coach program, operating as a secondary point of contact.
Primary focus includes the direct leadership of the OneStop team. The Roane State OneStop is responsible for delivering student services for second year students and assisting special admission types, such as certificate seeking, transient and personal enrichment students. Secondary focus will be the supportive leadership of the success coach team.
The Assistant Director maintains a small group of assigned students, functioning as their Success Coach. Student Success Coaches provide holistic student support services and academic advising. The incumbent will guide students through the entire enrollment and advisement process which includes but is not limited to areas such as admissions, career counseling, financial aid, academic planning, academic advising, and class scheduling. Success Coaches serve as a mentor and coach throughout the academic tenure of assigned student supporting them from enrollment to graduation (in collaboration with faculty advisors and the OneStop team upon the student’s completion of select benchmarks).
Job Duties
- Utilize enhanced knowledge base to provide guidance for students and staff.
- Direct supervision of federal work-study students.
- Develop and conduct specialized training.
- Oversee and ensure efficient and effective functionality of staff.
- Facilitate/provide conflict resolution for students, parents and staff. Maintain detailed staff and student records.
- Collaborate with institutional, state, and federal stakeholders.
- Generate and analyze reports and statistics.
- Conduct personnel performance evaluations and reviews.
- Attend meetings & conferences as a representative of the Student Success Center.
- Assist students in applying and admissions to the college.
- Assist students with career exploration and choice of academic major.
- Assist students in developing an Academic Plan for timely completion.
- Assist students in accessing resources for academic, financial and/or personal support.
- Serve as a success coach – guide and mentor students providing support in their academic career.
- Maintain a flexible schedule.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on the delivery of support components.
- Assist students/faculty advisors with completing Admissions, Financial Aid requirements and SAP Appeals.
- Promote visibility of the OneStop through outreach to students and faculty.
- Collaborate on individual student success strategies with faculty advisors.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (transcripts required).
Experience in at least ONE of the following areas: College Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Career/School Counseling.
Minimum of 1 year direct supervisory experience; preferably in an educational setting.
Minimum of 1 year higher education experience.
Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Must be willing to travel to other RSCC campuses.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in student Personnel, Educational Leadership or equivalent Student Services/Leadership field.
Supervisory experience in a higher education setting.
Previous counseling or case management experience.
Academic Advising Experience.
Financial Aid Counseling/ Processing.
Admissions Counseling/Processing experience.
Banner/ARGOS Reporting experience.
Experience with Banner Software.
Experience with Banner Document Management System
