Job Summary

The Director of Dual Studies acts as the liaison between the College, Local Education Agencies, and high school administrators/students in the expanded Roane State service area to enhance student learning opportunities through the College.

Job Duties

• Act as liaison with directors of school districts, principals, and school counselors and Roane State Community College to discuss opportunities for students to participate in Dual Studies courses.

• Manage departmental staff, budget, and inventory for the department.

• Collaborates with Academic Deans and/or Department Chairs to determine Dual Studies course offerings per semester while drafting and updating schedules with the high schools.

• Coordinates flow of information from Admissions and Business Offices and Site Directors with academic departments to ensure that Dual Studies students are enrolled, fees, adjusted, etc.

• Offers guidance and assistance to Dual Studies students, parents, and faculty via the Dual Studies policy manual as well as facilitates solutions to problems.

• Prepares and maintains files for all Dual Studies contract and monthly, quarterly, and annual report on Dual Studies enrollments.

• Promotes Dual Studies program via in-person presentations, promotions, and communications with school personnel, students, parents, and communities.

• Supervises the content and information shared on the Dual Studies webpage.

• Attends conferences, seminars, and training sessions to enhance scope of the Dual Studies program.

• Facilitates responsibilities and reports status of appropriated grant obligations/monies.

• Works closely with Grants Office to pursue educational opportunities for high school students. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field of study.
Experience or familiarity of dual enrollment in the high school environment.
Must be willing and able to travel within the eight-county service area and other counties as needed.
Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office and familiarity with college student database.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in related field.
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisor experience.
Knowledge of Banner.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent organizational and customer service skills including strong verbal/written communication skills.

The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
