Job Summary

TCAT Hartsville is seeking a qualified full- and/or part-time Welding Technology Instructors to assist with classroom and lab instruction in MIG, TIG, STICK, GAS, and other welding processes. These instructors will support the teaching both high school and adult learners, maintaining safety standards, evaluating student progress, and helping students build the skills necessary for employment in the welding industry. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. $30/hr Part-time is $30/hr, and $55,983 - $67,181 full-time.

Job Duties

The part-time responsible for assisting with the coordination and evaluation of all phases of the College’s Welding Technology programs. Physically able to lift, stoop, stand, and walk to demonstrate and perform all work based projects required. The instructor is responsible for providing individualized classroom and lab instruction to students to prepare them to become welders. The Instructor must also maintain good public relations with business and industry, maintain an active advisory committee and cooperate with outside agencies. In addition, the ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, team player who is willing to go above and beyond the call of duty and whose career objectives include being a member of a dynamic and growing institution that has a vision to expand its services and increase its offerings to the citizens, businesses and industries in its service area. High school diploma or GED required
Minimum five (5) years of welding experience
Ability to teach GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), SMAW (STICK), oxyacetylene fusion, flux core welding, flame cutting, brazing, soldering
Familiarity with blueprint reading, welding symbols, metallurgy, fitting and fabrication
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to maintaining safety and program-accrediting standards

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching Experience
Postsecondary diploma or A.A.S. in Welding or related field
Certifications such as AWS, CWE, CWI, or NCCER
Robotic welding and/or teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have good organizational and planning skills.
Must be willing to remain current in the welding profession.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationship with students, faculty, staff and general public.
