Title: Tutor Coordinator, Mathematics

POSITION SUMMARY
The Tutor Coordinator is responsible for delivering academic support to students enrolled in a range of Mathematics courses through traditional tutoring and structured weekly math skills sessions. This role collaborates closely with faculty, part-time tutors, and the Learning Center Coordinator to enhance student learning and success in Mathematics. Tutoring will be provided in both in-person and virtual formats, serving students across multiple campuses.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate the learning process for students seeking additional academic support outside of the classroom.
Work in both one-on-one and small group settings on Mathematics course materials.
Collaborate with Mathematics faculty course leads to design weekly math skills sessions that pair with content covered in the classroom.

Design academic skills workshops, including time management and study skills, targeted for students enrolled in STEM courses. Assist the Learning Center Coordinator in designing training for part-time tutoring staff based on faculty needs, student feedback, and best practices for STEM tutoring. Record tutoring visit data in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner. Promote tutoring services by visiting classes, being embedded in course shells, or attending resource fairs. Maintain knowledge of course schedules for both 7-week and 15-week Mathematics courses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree or higher with at least 15 college credit hours in mathematics.

Must have subject matter expertise (shown by an A or B in the course subject and/or extensive experience) in Statistics and at least one of the following areas:

Algebra
Finite Mathematics
Precalculus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous tutoring experience

Subject matter expertise in Statistics, Algebra, Finite Mathematics, and Precalculus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience working with a variety of learning styles. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty, staff, and student population. Proficient in virtual environments such as Zoom or Teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work occasional evenings.

Rate of Pay: $37,791.00 - $45,357.00 depending on experience
