Job Summary

The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Workforce Alignment provides leadership and has responsibility in the areas of strategic alignment of academic programs and workforce needs, oversight of the TBR Center for Apprenticeship, coordination with the TBR Center for Workforce Development, support of TCAT and community college work in grants, and ad hoc assignments as determined by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

This position leads system-level workgroups such as prior learning assessment, rural healthcare, support for state funding priorities; institutional and programmatic accreditation; leadership in grant activities at the system level; and coordination with internal and external partners.

The Assistant Vice Chancellor demonstrates a personal commitment, with assistance from TBR leaders, to devote time to growing and developing as a leader and a colleague.

The salary for this position is $99,612 - $126,829, depending on experience.

Job Duties

  • 40% - Academics/Workforce Alignment: Coordinate the alignment between TBR academic programs and present and future industry needs. Lead statewide initiatives around academic and workforce opportunities. Lead TBR’s Center for Apprenticeship to expand them to better serve students and workforce needs. Develop and revise policy to support stronger connections between workforce training and academic programs including, but not limited to credit for prior learning assessment and articulation for non-credit training into credit programs, assessing student demand for TCAT programs, and other associated policies. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Articulation & Transfer: Provide support for the articulation and curricular alignment of courses and programs between TBR technical colleges and community colleges as well as between workforce/non-credit training and credit programs, which may include service on program committees to establish competencies, learning outcomes and assessments for courses and programs and the development of new policy and guidance for TBR. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Gubernatorial and Legislative Funding: Provide leadership alongside other team members across Policy & Strategy to gubernatorial and legislative priorities like the GIVE grant program, including assisting with the annual evaluation of the program and course lists that comprise the program. Conduct site visits with others and possess an in depth and overall understanding of the program and its administration. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Community College and TCAT : lead system-level workgroups to support the coordination, planning, implementation, and evaluation of system-wide new and ongoing college academic initiatives. Work with the colleges on these projects within the guidelines of institutional and programmatic accreditation. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Grant leadership: Lead, coordinate, and collaborate on grant opportunities from state, federal, and philanthropic entities to support TBR’s mission of student success and workforce development - (Essential)
  • 5% - A personal commitment, with assistance from TBR leaders, to devote time to growing and developing as a leader and a colleague. Fulfill ad hoc assignments of varying nature at the discretion of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from a Regionally Accredited Institution
• Five (5) years of higher education experience, including full-time teaching and/or administrative experience or related workforce experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Administrative experience in higher education or workforce development
• Experience in academic and strategic planning, program and policy development, and leadership
