Job Summary:
This position provides a variety of staff support duties to sustain the effective operations of the Adult Education Program. The position also interacts with and provides instructional and registration/intake-related services for potential and current students and faculty on a daily basis. Occasional evening work will be required.
Job Duties:
Operates the required software/database system to enter registrations, applications, assessments, class assignments, attendance, reports, goals, as indicated by the State or other reporting agency. Assists with student counseling, orientation and assessment, and HiSET graduation. Assists with scheduling, proctoring, and scoring State-required tests and recommends student placement. Organizes and maintains program and student files as well as report documentation. Assists with the preparation of State and local reports and reimbursements. Provides customer service through telephone coverage, responses to inquiries, and reception of walk-in students, faculty, and guests. Performs general office duties – filing, email, correspondence, purchasing and disbursement of materials. Assists with program-related events. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED/HiSET.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the use of technical equipment in support of the overall program and the development of online/videoconferencing courses.
Experience in the support or delivery of presentations for both training and promotional purposes.
Experience working in an adult education environment.
Experience in the use of Jobs4TN database, CASAS, TABE, DRC, LACES, Essential Education, and Burlington English.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Microsoft office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Evidence of interpersonal skills and maturity.
Organizational and analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Skill in operating general office equipment.
Pay Rate: $36,000 - $46,000 annual salary depending on experience
