Job Summary
The Office of Institutional Advancement/Foundation Office is seeking a highly motivated student intern to assist with campus events, special projects, and duties as assigned in the Institutional Development/Foundation Office. The student will report to the Interim Associate Vice President.
This work-study position is especially suitable to a student who has an interest in nonprofit work and who is majoring in Marketing, Communication, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Job Duties
- Assist staff with day-to-day operations of the center, including:
- Monitoring office when Leadership team is away or in meetings.
- Various office tasks such as filing and organizing storage area.
- Assisting staff before, during, and after campus events.
- Assist with various special projects and reports, including supporting other offices and campus-wide events.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a registered student of Southwest Tennessee Community College.
- Only students who are approved for Federal Work Study are qualified for this position.

- Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours and up to 20 hours per week.
- Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events, particularly at the beginning of academic term, homecoming week, and Institutional Advancement events.
- Must have a great attitude and sense of professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions in a highly collaborative team setting.
- Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with an ever-growing community.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to operate office technology, including computers, scanners, printers, and copiers.
- Willingness to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary to support events.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Setup of events may require lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds and standing and/or walking for extended periods.
