Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville is accepting applications for the position of Associate Instructor, HVAC located at the Morgan County Correctional Complex, Wartburg, TN.

 

Job Duties

  • Teach and instruct rehabilitation and correctional students in technical training to prepare them to re-enter the job market in the HVAC field through lecture, demonstrations, and/or audio visual aids - (Essential)
  • Prepare syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans - (Essential)
  • Accurately prepare and submit all required documentation/reports by set deadlines - (Essential)
  • Administer tests to evaluate student progress - (Essential)
  • Maintain all student academic records related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.) - (Essential)
  • Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the HVAC industry - (Essential)
  • Maintain close communication with correctional personnel and TCAT Oneida/Huntsville administration - (Essential)
  • Ensure compliance with all TBR, institutional, state, and federal requirements. – (Essential)

 

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree or Diploma from an accredited technical training program in HVAC – heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.

Three years of related work experience in the HVAC field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

HVAC diploma

Teaching experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge in the areas of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning industry.
  • Ability to organize and provide theoretical and practical instructional activities to enable students to compete in the HVAC job market
  • Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher
  • Computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office applications, email, etc.)
  • Indication of willingness to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and business/industry personnel
  • Commitment to remaining current with industry practices through professional development activities
  • Ability to travel and/or work after school activities such as graduation, in-service, etc.
  • Strong, moral character, mature attitude, and stable personality.

Salary

Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines
