Position Summary
Responsible for classroom, laboratory, and curriculum development activities related to Electrical Engineering Technology, Automated Controls, focused on automation and machine-level control systems used in manufacturing environments. Instruction includes electrical circuits, electronics, programmable logic control (PLCs, Allen Bradley), industrial control systems, safety systems, servo systems, and equipment integration, preparing students to install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot automation systems commonly used in modern production facilities. Faculty are expected to support workforce-aligned program innovation and maintain strong industry partnerships.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation
- Teach lecture and laboratory courses in Electrical Engineering Technology, including industrial automation, Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial electronics, instrumentation, and related technical subjects
- Develop and maintain curriculum aligned with current industry standards in automation, manufacturing, and industrial control systems
- Deliver engaging, effective instruction that supports student learning and success
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve hands-on laboratory environments that reflect modern industrial automation practices
- Utilize and support industrial hardware and software platforms, including PLCs, HMI systems, servo drives, safety PLCs, and industrial networking technologies
- Support interdisciplinary instruction within Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Technology, and related Engineering & Information Technologies programs
- Collaborate with industry partners and regional employers to ensure workforce relevance and support experiential learning opportunities
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure the safe operation of industrial training systems and automation equipment

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a qualifying field, or Associate’s degree in a qualifying field with certifications, or Associate’s degree in a qualifying field and two (2) years of applicable work experience, or nationally recognized certification within subject matter, or by exception. Teaching experience is a plus.
Qualifying Fields: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, Engineering, C Industrial Technology, or related technical field.
Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Industrial automation systems
- PLC programming and controls
- Motor controls and industrial electronics
- Servo systems or motion control
- Safety PLCs or industrial safety systems
- Maintaining equipment, software updates, or technical systems maintenance
Preferred
Master’s degree in a qualifying field
Experience with:
- HMI development and system integration
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of automated equipment
- Teaching or workforce training experience
Special requirements and conditions
Flexible schedule and some travel required; must have a valid vehicle operator’s license.
Work with dual-enrollment high school students (background check will be required).
Salary Range: $41,555 - $50,900
