Job Summary
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro is accepting applications for a Dual Enrollment Specialist. This full-time position entails a commitment of at least 37.5 hours per week and is responsible for coordinating and advancing dual enrollment recruitment initiatives, as well as engaging with high school faculty and administrators and promoting apprenticeship opportunities to area businesses and industry partners. The Dual Enrollment Specialist reports directly to the Vice President of Instruction and Accreditation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads dual credit/dual enrollment recruitment efforts through high school visits, college and career fairs, Open House, and other events.
- Coordinates all dual enrollment activities throughout the College’s service delivery area.
- Implements and maintain dual enrollment procedures according to College and TBR policy.
- Acts as a liaison with area secondary CTE departments and contracted instructors.
- Fosters positive and cooperative relationships with high school counselors in our service area by (1) maintaining open and consistent communication channels, (2) making regular high school visits to promote CTE programs, and (3) hosting an annual counselors’ luncheon.
- Creates and conducts engaging presentations to educate large groups about the TCAT Murfreesboro CTE programs.
- Organizes NC3 Signing Day for high school students who have committed to attending TCAT – Murfreesboro CTE programs.
- Maintains a working knowledge of institutional and federal policies as well as COE accreditation standards as they apply to student services (e.g., Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VI, Title IX).
- Prioritize projects, attending to multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting institutional and departmental deadlines.
- Communicate professionally and tactfully with all members of the campus community. Fosters collegial relationships within and outside the department.
- Performs other duties directly and uniquely related to career and technical education as assigned by supervisor.
- Screen high school students for the pre-apprenticeship program.
- Develop partnerships with employers to provide work-based learning opportunities for pre-apprentices.
- Provide support to apprentices and employers throughout the apprenticeship process.
- Monitor apprentice progress and ensure that they meet the requirements of the program.
- Represent the pre-apprenticeship program at community events and meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Experience with recruiting.
- Strong customer service and public speaking skills to convey and present college information effectively to large groups and individuals.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with high schools, colleges, prospective students, faculty, staff and the general public.
- Ability to exercise good judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Supportive and client-centered approach to student services, especially when assisting students with developmental, emotional, physical, or learning differences.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
- At least two years’ full-time work experience in K-12 and/or higher education student guidance, counseling, or related field.
- Experience with Banner student information system.
- 3-5 years of experience in workforce development or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the apprenticeship model.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. or more and set up display table at CTE program promotion events.
- Ability to drive CTE bus and travel to event sites within the service area.
- Ability to give tours of TCAT Murfreesboro campuses.
- Ability to give presentations as part of the CTE program promotion.
SALARY: This is an exempt position. Salary commensurate with qualifications, education, experience and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
