Adjunct Cosmetology Instructor

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton (TCAT) is accepting applications for an Adjunct Cosmetology Instructor at the Boones Creek Extension Campus. The schedule for this position will be up to 30 hours per week.

General Duties:

The Adjunct Instructor shall assist and support the lead instructor in providing quality, competency-based instruction and shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

• Assist the lead instructor in the delivery of a competency-based course of study, including lesson plans, assignments, instructional materials, and laboratory activities, while helping ensure that content remains current and aligned with industry standards.
• Support student success and welfare by encouraging motivation, maintaining appropriate conduct and safety standards, and assisting with discipline, professional appearance, and job placement activities as directed by the lead instructor.
• Observe and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations of the Tennessee Board of Regents and the College.
• Maintain current knowledge and skills in the assigned occupational or professional area.
• Assist in fostering and maintaining positive relationships with business and industry partners.
• Support the preparation of students for entry-level employment through classroom instruction, laboratory supervision, and individualized assistance.
• Collaborate with the lead instructor and other College personnel to promote a positive and effective learning environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Cosmetology Instructors License
• Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field.

Pay Range:

$30 an hour
