Title: Training and Compliance Coordinator

Job Summary

Supports the College’s efforts to maintain compliance with applicable federal and state laws, Tennessee Board of Regents policies, and institutional procedures by managing and/or coordinating all aspects of institutional compliance, regulatory reporting, Title VI and Title IX compliance functions. The Training and Compliance Coordinator collaborates with departments across the institution to design and deliver training programs that promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and ethical practices.

Job Duties

  • Coordinates annual employee compliance training initiatives (e.g., Title VI, Title IX, conflict of interest, FERPA/HIPAA), including developing curriculum, facilitating instructor-led workshops, administering e-learning courses, and tracking completion metrics. 
  • Responsible for training students on Title VI & Title IX compliance each semester, utilizing a combination of in-person presentations, virtual sessions, and online learning modules. 
  • Monitors compliance initiatives and assists departments with tracking corrective actions and mitigation strategies. 
  • Identifies any issues or trends that need to be addressed and ensures appropriate follow-up and resolution. 
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources on matters involving employee-related compliance, discrimination complaints, investigations, and corrective actions when appropriate. 
  • Develops and maintains compliance reports, dashboards, records, and documentation for review and submission to leadership. 
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of compliance-related policies, procedures, and reporting practices. 
  • Facilitates various audits as needed. 
  • Monitors and maintains the Policy Repository ensuring timely review, and revision of JSCC policies and procedures. 
  • Ensures adherence to the Freedom of Speech and Divisive Concepts policies and distributes annual notifications. 
  • Conducts all Title VI investigations, with HR serving as a partner for employee matters. 
  • Serve as the campus’ Title IX Deputy Coordinator. 
  • Responsible for Title VI & Title IX reporting requirements. 
  • Coordinates the following activities and initiatives campus wide:
    • Compliance activities related to federal and state regulations applicable to higher education, excluding employment-related compliance functions administered through Human Resources 
    • Business Continuity Plan 
    • Conflict of interest disclosure review process and committee activities 
    • Serve as the campus’ coordinator for Public Records Requests 
    • Serve as the campus’ coordinator of Programs for Minors on Campus 
    • Records retention and records disposal reporting requirements 
  • Serves as a back-up to receive and processes general complaints not related to Title VI & Title IX, etc. in the absence of the HR Director. 
  • Responsible for website updates applicable to compliance requirements. 
  • Participates in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of higher education compliance requirements and regulatory changes. 
  • Serves on institutional committees and participate in special projects as assigned. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, higher education, human resources, legal studies, compliance, risk management, or a related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years professional experience in compliance, risk management, Title IX, Title VI, human resources, legal compliance, higher education administration, or a related area.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
• Experience facilitating training sessions, workshops, or meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in higher education or public sector administration.
• Title IX, compliance, ethics, or risk management certification/training.
• Experience conducting investigations and preparing compliance reports.
• Experience coordinating compliance initiatives.

• Knowledge of federal and state compliance requirements applicable to higher education.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and leadership levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and reporting systems.

Pay Rate:  $48,764 - $60,956 (Annual salary depending on eligible experience, which is defined by the current compensation plan.)
