Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the federally funded TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant. This includes strategic program development, day-to-day administration, staff supervision, budget management, performance reporting, and ensuring full compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations.
Job Duties:
Provide leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of the TRIO SSS program to ensure alignment with grant goals and institutional mission. Supervise, train, and evaluate program staff, including full-time employees, tutors/mentors, and work-study students, to ensure high-quality service delivery. Oversee the recruitment, selection, and retention of eligible participants (first-generation, low income, and/or students with documented disabilities), maintaining full compliance with federal eligibility criteria. Ensure the delivery of comprehensive support services, including academic advising, financial literacy education, tutoring, career planning, four-year transfer preparation, and personal development resources. Develop and maintain strong cross-campus partnerships to promote student success, increase resource accessibility, and advocate for the needs of SSS participants. Manage the program budget in accordance with U.S. Department of Education guidelines and institutional financial policies, ensuring fiscal responsibility and grant compliance. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness by tracking student progress, outcomes, and service utilization to inform data-driven decision-making. Prepare and submit all required reports, including the Annual Performance Report (APR), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal reporting standards. Lead and participate in continuous program improvement efforts, using best practices and assessment data to enhance services and meet performance objectives. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in related field.
Minimum five (5) years counseling experience working with low-income, first-generation and disabled students or in education support programs and three (3) years of administrative experience including supervision of staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of developing individualized learning plans, of interpreting and complying with Federal grant regulations.
Knowledge of recruiting and training tutors and mentors.
Knowledge of developing and monitoring budgets, writing program reports and conducting program evaluations and of designing and implementing a comprehensive evaluation program including measurable objectives.
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational and supervisory abilities.
Pay Rate: $70,000 annual salary
