Job Summary

The Game Day Operations Attendant is a part-time work-study position reporting to a full-time staff member in the Athletic Department and ultimately to the Assistant Athletic Director, Ecenur Yurdakul. The Game Day Operations Attendant is responsible for assisting with the preparation, operation, and breakdown of athletic events. This position supports the Athletic Department in providing a safe, organized, and positive experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, visiting teams, and spectators.

Job Duties

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of athletic facilities before and after games and events.
  • Prepare game day areas, including team benches, scorer’s tables, signage, equipment, and spectator areas.
  • Assist with game day check-in and provide general support to student-athletes, coaches, officials, and visiting teams.
  • Assist with concession stand operations, including setup, customer service, stocking supplies, and cleanup.
  • Assist with ticket booth operations, including ticket sales, admission, and providing information to spectators.
  • Serve as table staff for assigned sports and assist with game day responsibilities such as the scoreboard, game clock, statistics, scorebook, and other duties as trained.
  • Assist with video recording and photography during athletic events for game documentation, promotional materials, social media, and departmental use.
  • Operate basic video, photography, scoreboard, and other game day equipment as assigned and trained.
  • Help ensure athletic facilities are clean, organized, and ready for competition.
  • Assist with game day equipment, supplies, and materials as directed by Athletic Department staff.
  • Monitor assigned areas during athletic events and report any safety, facility, or operational concerns to a supervisor.
  • Assist with crowd and facility management by helping ensure spectators follow facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to students, athletes, coaches, officials, visiting teams, and spectators.
  • Assist Athletic Department staff with special events, tournaments, and other athletic activities as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with student-athletes and Athletic Department information.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a registered student of Southwest Tennessee Community College.
    • Only students who are approved for Federal Work Study are qualified for this position.
  • Commitment to the required work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and athletic event days as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of computers, cameras, video equipment, or athletic event operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and positive attitude when interacting with students, coaches, officials, visiting teams, and spectators.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods during athletic events.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment or supplies as needed.
