Job Summary
The Payroll Practitioner is responsible for processing accurate and timely payrolls while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations. This position maintains payroll deduction records, reconciles related general ledger accounts, and prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders. The Payroll Practitioner also supports vendor reporting and payroll-related financial transactions.
Job Duties
- Process and maintain web time entry approvals and approval queues for full-time, part-time, and temporary employees.
- Review, update, and process payroll data to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
- Prepare and distribute payroll deduction reports to internal departments and external vendors.
- Upload and validate direct deposit bank files in accordance with established procedures.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and ensure balances agree with vendor records.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Assist with payroll audits and reporting requirements as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a professional office environment required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Payroll and/or accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with Banner.
