Job Summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology -Crump is accepting applications for the position of Practical Nursing Associate Instructor. This position will serve multiple campuses and will work with all programs including the daytime and evening/weekend programs. The Practical Nursing Instructor will work under the direction of the Coordinator of Practical Nursing and collaborate closely with Practical Nursing faculty. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high standard of personal and professional ethics and possess a sincere interest in teaching and the nursing profession. A criminal background check is required for the selected applicant.

Job Duties

• Teach full course curriculum; develop course outlines, lesson plans, lectures, and exams for multiple campuses.
• Supervise student’s clinical experiences as scheduled.
• Provides individual evaluation of each student’s progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required.
• Maintains confidential, accurate, and complete student records.
• Participate in recruitment of students and placement of graduates.
• Maintains ongoing competency required for RN licensure by participation in continuing education opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Current TN Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 3 years’ current hospital and/or nursing home experience. • Previous teaching experience a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 years’ experience worked as an RN in a Nursing Home

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Use of computer

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• Normal standing, sitting, and walking
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and clinical health care setting.
• Operating a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.

SALARY:

Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines
