Job Summary
TCAT Jacksboro has a current opening for an Industrial Maintenance Technology Instructor. This full-time position on campus position.
Job Duties
• Teach all phases of Industrial Maintenance Technology and manage rotation of students that includes instruction in mechanical maintenance, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, electric motors, predictive and preventative maintenance, variable frequency drives, electronics, motor control and fluid power, PLCs, robotics, commercial/residential wiring, and welding.
• Develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aides, and keep these revised and up to date to meet the requirements of industry.
• Establish and meet with program advisory committees.
• Assist with job placement and follow-up of students.
• Must be willing to remain current in the field by participating in professional development activities.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress.
• Maintain records directly related to CTE students within the Industrial Maintenance program.
• Maintain good public relations and conduct visits to business and industry.
• Performs other duties directly related to career and technical education as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of certificate or diploma in instructional area or equivalent training with credentials in related field.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years successful work experience in the Industrial Maintenance field.
• Knowledge in the following areas: electrical theory, industrial electricity, motor control, hydraulics, pneumatics,
• mechanical systems, PLCs/Robotics, preventative maintenance, and industrial instrumentation
• Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with students.
• Maintain current credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate degree in related field preferred.
• Previous teaching experience a plus
• Certifications in maintenance field, AWS, and NIMS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Show evidence of good character and mature attitude.
• Proficient in computer skills, oral and written communication with a heavy emphasis on the ability to formulate and communicate ideas to individuals and/or groups.
• Knowledge and ability to instruct, analyze, and solve student concerns.
• Keep current with changing employer/industry needs.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Use of computer
- Normal standing, sitting, and walking.
- Work is performed in a classroom and shop setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to
demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and shop setting. - Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience according to Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines. Associate level instructor range is Minimum $56,263 to Midpoint $67,517.
