      Practical Nursing Instructor in TCAT Northwest

      Minimum Qualifications: • Associate Degree in Nursing required BSN preferred. • Must hold active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee with no disciplinary actions. • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of successful recent employment experience in the specialty area to be taught beyond the normal learning period. • Must have at least three years’ current clinical experience. Teaching experience preferred. • Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor. • Must have the ability to interact with adult students. • Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude, and stable personality. • Must possess computer skills. General Duties: • Develop course of study and conduct training program in specialty area utilizing ATI, D2L, and other curriculum support platforms. • Confer with administration to gain knowledge and better understand changes in policies, procedures, and technologies. • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specific training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individualized and group instruction, lecture, demonstration, and conference. • Select or develop teaching aids, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and reference materials. • Assist other PN instructors with skills, lectures, and clinical. • Provide tutoring to nursing students as needed during office hours. • Maintain student records and reports. • Responsible for student placement and assist with student follow-up. • Cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to business and industry; establish and maintain good public relations with the school’s general public. • Participate in recruitment of students. • Supervise students’ clinical experiences in various healthcare settings (long term care, acute care, outpatient clinics, schools, etc.). • Actively seek potential clinical sites for the provision of clinical training. • Adhere to all Board of Nursing requirements and all TCAT Northwest requirements.

      The Director of State Government Relations will serve as a key liaison between the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), the Tennessee General Assembly, and other government agencies. Working in collaboration with the AVC, the Coordinator for Government Relations, and the Executive Vice Chancellor for External Affairs, the Director is responsible for monitoring, tracking, and analyzing all proposed state legislation and assessing its potential effects on the TBR System. The Director will provide strategic advice and direction on how legislative activity may impact the System’s budget and policy priorities—particularly those related to student recruitment, support, progression, and completion. The Director cultivates strong relationships with legislators, state officials, and policy stakeholders to advocate for the TBR System and align public policy with institutional, workforce development, and student success goals. This position will serve in a cross functional role with the other Directors in the Department of Government and Public Relations. This position supervises the Coordinator of Government Relations. This position may have the opportunity to work remote within the state of Tennessee but with periodic visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee’s expense, and potential travel to Tennessee TBR colleges may be necessary.

      Supervises the Regional Workforce Development Coordinators. Supervises the Center for Workforce Development (CFWD) daily operations and works with the Executive Director to ensure efficiencies are maintained and customer satisfaction (internal and external) is our focus. Working closely with the AVC for Government and Public Relations, other Directors in the Department of Government and Public Relations, and the Executive Director of the Center for Workforce Development, this position ensures clear, consistent, and targeted messaging that highlights the value of Tennessee’s public community and technical colleges in meeting workforce needs. The Director will lead efforts to develop strategic messaging, content creation, and campaign coordination to raise the profile of TBR institutions as premier providers of workforce training and education. The Director supports major TBR events, including quarterly board meetings, presidents’ meetings, statewide workforce convenings, TBR Days on the Hill, and the annual Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Awards.
