Brief Job Overview/Summary

Stockton University in New Jersey seeks applications for a full-time Non-Tenure Track Teaching faculty member in Writing and First-Year Studies. This position begins September 1, 2025. The successful candidate will join core faculty housed in the School of General Studies in teaching first-year writing courses, including especially our course for students who may benefit from extra support, as part of an innovative, University-wide First-Year Studies program. Our program’s new outcomes focus on developing rhetorical knowledge and practice, developing and engaging in a writing process, and engaging in a research process. The program is also in the process of re-imagining the University’s Writing-Across-the-Curriculum (WAC) program which will likely include WID requirements across majors, interdisciplinary collaborations to develop discipline-specific writing objectives, mentorship of campus faculty teaching WAC/WID, and assessment of discipline-specific writing objectives. The program hopes successful candidates can contribute to the re-imagined WAC/WID program. Successful candidates can also teach other courses for our interdisciplinary writing minor and have the opportunity to teach other interdisciplinary general education courses in the university-wide curriculum.
