Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities: The Stockton University School of Health Sciences enrolls ~1700 students across programs that include undergraduate level Exercise Science, Health Science, Nursing, Public Health and graduate level Communication Sciences and Disorders, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Public Health. The school benefits from strong clinical partnerships with local healthcare providers including AtlantiCare, a health system with a main campus hospital located on University property, two federally qualified healthcare centers, and an Atlantic City campus adjacent to the University campus in Atlantic City. The Dean of the School of Health Sciences will have a general charge to support and advance the continued excellence of the School. Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is expected to provide dynamic vision, develop strategic initiatives, and lead long-term planning and policy development for the School in support of both the School and University's missions, congruent with the University’s new Strategic Plan. The Dean will provide transparent and authentic leadership, rooted in a deep and abiding appreciation for lifelong learning and a desire to serve students. The Dean will provide direction and guidance for academic curricula that support high-quality academic programs and prioritize student academic success. The Dean is responsible for the recruitment, development, support, and evaluation of faculty and staff, and they will also work to increase enrollment in undergraduate and graduate programs. The Dean is the School’s primary representative and engages with external stakeholders to build new relationships and enhance existing partnerships while building visibility, reputation, and fundraising support. The Dean serves as a member of the Dean’s Council and the Provost’s Academic Affairs Council. The Dean’s office includes an Assistant Dean and administrative staff.
