About the Position:
The Associate Director of the Student Strengths Coaching Program in the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being is responsible for leading a peer education program for undergraduate students. The Associate Director works with all aspects of the Strengths Student Coaching Program, including program development, recruitment and selection, student development, assessment and evaluation, budget management, supervision (40 students and a wage employee), and marketing. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Director also contributes to university-wide strengths education for students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and executes all aspects of the Student Strengths Coaching Program including program development, marketing, recruitment, budget, onboarding new student strengths coaches, work lab experiences, and assessment and evaluation. Designs curriculum and provides instruction for students to engage in comprehensive experiential learning activities (work labs) with client organizations.
Cultivates relationships with academic and non-academic departments for designing experiential learning experiences for student coaches. Collaborates with strategic partners and CWB’s coaching alumni to create engagement opportunities and mentoring for student strengths coaches.
Provides direct supervision for a non-student wage “Program Assistant” position, and for 40 rotating student wage “Student Strengths Coach” positions periodically through the academic year. Provides programmatic oversight with campus stakeholders ensuring effective and timely implementation of program efforts and data tracking of successful performance markers.
Participates in CWB staff meetings and retreats. Collaborates with team members on relevant programs and projects when appropriate, and engages in professional development opportunities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;
Full-time professional experience typically obtained in three years;
Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs;
Experience in developing collaborative relationships;
Experience in leading teams to achieve organizational goals;
Experience in facilitating workshops related to leadership development, coaching, and well-being topics;
Demonstrated knowledge of strengths education and development;
Demonstrated knowledge of Clifton Strengths Assessment;
In-depth knowledge of coach education and coaching competencies;
Demonstrated project management skills including prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines;
Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and reporting to evaluate learning and program outcomes, and to inform strategic decision making;
Proficiency in creating and implementing marketing plans, and effectively utilizing various communication channels;
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude;
Demonstrated ability to function independently and collaboratively as a team member and to lead teams;
Proven ability to manage teams effectively and promote professional development within the team;
Proficient in software such as Microsoft Office Suite; and
Proficient with social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coaching certification from an International Coaching Federation recognized program;
Experience typically obtained in 3+ years in coaching and coach education;
Demonstrated experience in team-building, fostering collaboration, and mentoring staff toward professional growth;
Demonstrated experience in fostering partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and external stakeholders to enhance campus life;
Experience typically obtained in 3+ years in supervising diverse teams;
Knowledgeable of assessment strategies and ability to develop and evaluate program outcomes;
Ability to work across departments to create cohesive initiatives that maximize campus resources; and
Proficiency in presenting data insights through reports, dashboards, or presentations.
