Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Research and collects data through lab activities, library, and online resources, or other project-specific methodologies.
- Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data.
- Schedule, organize, and report on the status of research and engineering activities.
- Write and edit materials for distribution, presentation, and publication.
- Meet with the faculty supervisor on a regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the assistant’s tasking and performance.
- Attend project meetings.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Competencies
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability and experience working independently and accurately to problem-solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of engineering design, development, and testing activities.
- Subject knowledge and oral/written communication skills to discuss and document satellite and ground station results for progress reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Support our satellite and ground station projects by engaging in associated engineering design, development, and testing activities. Assist the faculty member in a variety of non-administrative tasks
- Prepare resources and materials for engineering design, development and testing, conducting hardware and software tests, documenting results, and other tasks in support of the satellite and ground station projects activities.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
