Salary/Position Classification

  • 20.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 20-40 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing high-quality customer service to clients and partners of the Test Site, including service and support to the client’s flight operations, safety requirements, and the crews operating in the field.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational/safety paperwork.
  • Assist in ensuring required crewmembers are properly trained on safety protocols and hazard mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in operations/safety meetings and provide input on continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of classified information and a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Work will require frequent travel.
  • Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as required
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Export Control Compliance: This position requires compliance with U.S. government export control laws and regulations.
  • Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Person” (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b (a)(3)).
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • o Possess an FAA Private Pilot License and/or FAA Remote Pilot License
    o Experience with Part 107 operations
    o Experience with Remote Control (RC) aircraft
    o Experience with UAS flight operations and safety risk assessments
    o Experience or coursework in safety management systems or risk management
    o Knowledge of FAA regulations related to unmanned aircraft systems
    o Good technical writing skills or experience in drafting safety documentation
