Salary/Position Classification

  • $400.00 monthly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 5 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): Yes

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis of drought in ND using Landsat. 
  • Assist in the preparation of the written report of findings. 
  • Help maintain the online web interface for NDView program. 
  • Prepare a story map for the final product. 
  • Assist in general outreach to the public on remote sensing, including participating in workshops and other outreach events by NDView and the Department of Geography & GISc.

Required Competencies

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of Google Earth and Python programming is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online software.
  • Good understanding of remote sensing and data sources.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
