Salary/Position Classification

  • $17.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 5-20 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

The Concession Worker will take orders from customers, fills orders and handles the money transactions and helps with prep work, clean up and inventory in the concession stand.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greets customers as they approach the concession stand. 
  • Accepts money in the form of cash, and credit or debit cards for items purchased. 
  • Assists customers with questions. 
  • Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift. 
  • Fill orders. 
  • Help with prep work. 
  • Clean up and do inventory at the end of your shift. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Competencies

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers and food equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change.
  • Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies.
  • Basic understanding of or ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
  • Basic understanding of or ability to learn food-handling techniques and preparation
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as requested.
