Purpose of Position
Support the game day operations of RecSports by supervising games, verifying player eligibility, and assisting with staff training, evaluation, and event management. Provide on-site leadership during gameplay, enforce policies, and respond to injuries, conflicts, or rule issues. Maintain equipment, track participation, and promote a positive, service-oriented environment aligned with Wellness & Health Promotion standards.
This is a part-time, non-benefitted position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support player eligibility verification, supervision of games, and completion of reports and evaluations.
- Assist in training, supervising, and evaluating RecSports officials and scorekeepers; lead sport-specific trainings as needed.
- Assist in developing training materials & rulebooks in collaboration with Coordinator & Program Manager
- Track participation and game results using appropriate technology and reporting tools.
- Provide gameday leadership in managing injuries, protests, rule interpretations, and conflicts.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with RecSports staff, participants, and team captains.
- Maintain and transport equipment; report inventory needs to the Coordinator.
- Perform occasional field maintenance, office tasks, and sanitation duties.
- Enforce university, departmental, and facility policies with participants and staff.
- Follow safety, first aid, and PPE protocols as needed.
- Represent Wellness & Health Promotion by promoting programs and maintaining a positive, service-oriented attitude.
- Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
- Attend all required trainings and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of various sport rules
- Diverse range of experience with multiple sports participation or engagement
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED, or ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire. (Training provided by the department at no cost for employees
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Technical and detailed knowledge of game rules and officiating techniques.
- Certification in officiating.
- Valid driver’s license
