Salary/Position Classification

  • $40,300 annual, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite at the UND Grand Forks, ND campus

Purpose of Position

The primary role of the administrative assistant is to provide support to Student Academic Success and Career Engagement (SASCE) staff, programs and services, students the department serves, and daily office operations. These duties include serving as the main office receptionist, hiring, training, and supervising student assistants, and providing support to office programs and services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Student Academic Success & Career Engagement Administrative Support
    • Serve as department contact and front-line reception.
    • Respond to all inquiries coming into Student Academic Success.
    • Schedule student appointments, staff, and individual meetings.
    • Serve as the liaison to the Shared Service Center managing payments.
    • Ensure proper processes and procedures are followed in accordance with UND purchasing guidelines.
    • Order supplies for the unit when requested.
    • Provide programs and services support within the office and in collaboration with other campus departments/units.
    • Provide technology support for new hires within the unit (i.e., wiping of computers and reimaging for new staff and setting up phones).
    • Manage and monitor vendor payments for Career and Internship Expos within the Handshake system.
    • Manage unit wide contact lists.
  • Office Manager - McCannel 280
    • Hire, train, and supervise office student assistants
    • Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere in the office environment
    • Demonstrate an ability to multi-task and function with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Greet all visitors in a warm and welcoming manner
    • Maintain and manage office and key inventories as well as surplus property process
    • Provide office technology support for McCannel 280 (printer/copier/Hawk Central kiosk)
    • Serve as point of contact for office related situations that may arise.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Perform projects as assigned by the Director of Student Academic Success and Vice Provost for Student Success.
    • Continue to grow and advance in the position through participation in professional development opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

  • Experience in working with students, alumni, business/industry, faculty and staff
