Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the construction, painting, and assembly of theatrical scenery and props Operate and maintain power tools and hand tools safely Follow technical drawings, ground plans, and instructions from the Technical Director.
- Load, unload, and organize materials and scenic elements Help with stage setup and strike (teardown) before and after performances Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the shop and backstage areas
- Assist with repairs and modifications to sets during a show run Observe proper safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
- Collaborate with fellow students, designers, and faculty on production needs Attend production meetings or shop calls as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and perform physical tasks
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work collaboratively and take direction
- No prior theatre or construction experience required—training provided!
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
